Julie Bird
Welcome to Paradise! I’m Julie Bird, Co-owner/Operator of Paradise Event Center.
Prior to my work at Paradise, I spent 20 years at Michigan State University as a student and then a staff member, where I built relationships with alumni and donors to the University. With an undergraduate degree in Interpersonal Communication, I have a passion for working with people. Seventeen years ago, while pursuing that passion, I met now-business partner, David Zick. A successful entrepreneur, Dave is a trusted advisor and mentor.

Together, we created Paradise Event Center. Paradise is the culmination of my dream to provide exceptional hospitality in a carefully curated, memorable setting. It is my hope that my passion for people shines through in every facet of Paradise Event Center. From the moment you arrive, we’ll do all we can to make you feel like you’re in Paradise!

When I am not nurturing people, I am providing that same affection to the extensive variety of plants I am continually adding to our grounds. The joy of tending and watching the gardens grow at Paradise is akin to the same joy that I feel helping clients to envision, plan, and execute important life events. I am so looking forward to meeting you and assisting you in bringing YOUR vision to life.

I’m David Zick, Julie’s partner in creating Paradise Event Center.
From the time I met Julie, I was impressed with her personality, ability to connect with others, and passion.
When Julie told me about her dream of owning and operating an event center back in early 2023, I offered to work with her to negotiate everything that goes with finding/buying a building and starting a company.
I’m proud to help her realize her vision. Aside from Paradise Event Center, I am involved with a few other businesses, and using my experience in these other endeavors has helped me help Julie create the wonderful venue we call Paradise Event Center.
